Abstract

The study presented aims to discuss how the right to education is ensured when referring to the reality of women in the prison system. The legal and educational scenario that protects gender rights is read from a broad perspective as a way of arguing the absences that undermine the guarantee of the right to education for the aforementioned public. The general objective of the research is to understand the gaps and issues that complement the entry into education by women prisoners, when considered from a gender perspective. This investigation consisted of a theoretical essay carried out based on research in the literature on the subject, where the study highlighted some gender issues that are interconnected with access to education for women prisoners, as well as the social situation that surrounds them and regarding education. in prison offers. The findings show the disparities involved in the reality experienced in prison, the lack of professionals in the teaching area, aspects compatible with architecture, vacancies and disrespect for women prisoners. Finally, it is argued that there is eternal invisibility by the State, in relation to issues of education in prison and the break with gender prejudices, which, in general, makes it difficult to guarantee the right to education for women in the prison system.
