THE INFLUENCE OF SET-PIECE SITUATIONS ON GOAL SCORING AND MATCH OUTCOMES IN FUTSAL: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

This research comprises a theoretical and practical discussion centred on the field of Physical Education from the perspective of futsal, covering both men’s and women’s competitions. The aim of this study is to present an analysis seeking to understand the influence of set-piece situations on goal-scoring and the outcomes of futsal matches. It employs a qualitative methodology grounded in theoretical frameworks related to the topic. This study seeks to identify associations between the contexts in which goals are scored – including set-piece situations – and teams’ positions in the league table. It also investigates the relationship between these factors and match results and competitive performance.
