OPERATING STRATEGIES OF THE FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES AT UNIVERSIDADE LÚRIO IN THE FRAMEWORK OF COVID-19 PREVENTION

Abstract

Mozambique, a country from southern Africa, like other parts of the world, was hit by one of the biggest public health crises resulting from the outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic, also known as COVID-19, between 2020 and 2021, with an impact on all aspects of society, particularly in education, posing major challenges in this sector. As part of the prevention of COVID-19, on March 20, 2020, the Government of Mozambique decreed a State of Emergency with the closure of all primary, secondary, higher education, public and private schools. In this context, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Higher Education and Professional Technician (MCTESTP) urged all educational institutions to comply with the measures, advising so that classes were not completely interrupted, including the Faculty of Health Sciences at Lúrio University, which was forced to implement different methods to keep classes running, in this context, this work describes the operating strategies of the Faculty of Sciences in the context of the prevention of COVID-19 between 2020 and 2021. the obligation to comply with sanitary measures to reduce the administration of the virus among employees and students within the university field, classes were restructured into smaller numbers and teaching spaces such as classrooms and laboratories were marked with distance points between users, not however, hybrid teaching was also introduced.
