THE CRIME OF FEMINICIDE AND VIOLATION OF WOMEN'S RIGHT TO LIFE: AN ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BRAZILIAN WOMEN'S PROTECTION LEGISLATION

Abstract

The article addresses the theme of femicide, focusing on the analysis of the effectiveness of measures to protect women's right to life. The central objective is to analyze femicide, reflecting on the Brazilian social and legislative context. The historical context of femicide is explored, highlighting the persistence of the following issue: to analyze whether the Femicide Law constitutes progress in terms of judicialization, typifying homicides against women. In this regard, the research is based on a qualitative, deductive, and exploratory approach, using literature review as a methodology. The text emphasizes the importance of critically examining the challenges faced by women, in line with the equality principle enshrined in the Federal Constitution. It also proposes enhancing administrative efficiency through strategies such as the implementation of protective laws and the strengthening of public policies aimed at preventing femicide. As expected results, the goal is to provide valuable insights for the practical implementation of measures to combat femicide and raise awareness about the importance of effective strategies in protecting women from this form of violence.
