THE ROLE OF THE COURT OFFICER: THE POWER OF COMMUNICATION IN IMPLEMENTING ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Abstract

The role of the Court Officer, which has commonly undergone several transformations over the years, is now entering a new stage of innovations and possibilities. Given this perspective and the daily experience of the officer corps, this article is an excerpt from a cutout of Master's Dissertation, which emphasizes the following general objective: Analyze the historical evolution of the role of the Court Officer in promoting self-composition, identifying the challenges and opportunities for exercising this function today. For this purpose, the Qualitative Methodology used and through the Bibliographic Review, the data collected from scientific articles, dissertations, theses and books found in the search fields of Google Scholar, SciELO and Court Journals were elucidated. Furthermore, the research drew on the teachings of renowned authors and scholars, with the philosopher Jürgen Habermas being highlight in this study. It was possible to understand that throughout history, the role of the Court Officer been linked to being the voice of Justice on the streets and, thus, these civil servants have established themselves as the link between the Judiciary and society, being important pieces in the implementation of self-compositional methods of conflict resolution.
