This article analyzes the limitations in the implementation of social reintegration policies for people released from the prison system in Manaus, focusing on Amazonas State Law No. 6,197/2023, the Social Office, and the Reeducar Project. The study adopts a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive, bibliographic, and documentary approach, examining legislation, reports, institutional data, and studies on policy implementation, stigma, and recidivism. The documents confirm that the Social Office and the Reeducar Project are operating, with records of assistance, interinstitutional coordination, and activities aimed at preparing people for release. However, gaps remain regarding the reach of these initiatives, the effectiveness of referrals, and the conditions required to ensure the continuity of staff and funding. The reported recidivism rates also present limitations because they do not clarify the conceptual definition adopted, the follow-up period, or the calculation methodology. Regarding Amazonas State Law No. 6,197/2023, the general regulation required by Article 7 was not located, although subsequent acts created governance structures and coordination mechanisms whose connection with the full implementation of the law is still not sufficiently defined. The study concludes that the policy provides concrete assistance but still presents limitations in monitoring, transparency, and evaluation.
