Abstract

This article aimed to elucidate questions about Law 13.871/19, added to the Maria da Penha law in 2019, whose legal text lacks many changes, since it left many gaps. Through a Document Review, the methods of the Narrative Review of Literature were used together with the Snowballing technique, both duly explained in the research text. Through research, we sought to answer the question about who would, in fact, be responsible for funding the Unified Health Service (SUS) for victims of domestic violence in Brazil. By means of this problem, it was established By providing for the research objectives, the legal consequences for cases of non-compensation were also analyzed, as well as the possibilities for the defense of the aggressor and also some judgments and understandings of the Superior Courts of the country. At the end of the research, one can glimpse the different opinions and points of view of authors regarding this accountability.
