This article shows the evolution of the articulated regime of attendance in the Conservatory of Vale do Sousa. The perspective of the educational community was compared to the views presented in a 2008 study in order to understand the possible changes. The aim of the present study was to identify the reasons why families seek the articulated regime for their children. The questionnaires applied show that this regime continues to perform various functions, and that the dual vocational/generic function is still very relevant today. Parents and guardians are more concerned with the general education of their children, than with the vocational purpose of the school.
