This article discusses the importance of school work in early childhood education in the teaching and learning of mathematics through play in early childhood education, reporting the importance and its use that need to be developed in teaching practice. Playful activities allow the child to learn in a pleasant, fun and relaxed way. With the application of games and games in the teaching of mathematics, one can develop creativity, imagination and the stimulus for socialization and coexistence among peers. We address the need for this practical teacher in teaching and learning, in addition to ensuring that children learn faster by playing, because it is playing and in games that children discover the fun of this activity in math class. The bibliographic research allows us to conclude that games are an essential educational tool to guarantee dynamic and engaging math classes for preschool-age children, guaranteeing children's right to a quality education.
