Andragogy is an approach focused on the specificities of adult learning, valuing learners' prior experiences, autonomy, and educational needs. This article analyzes the foundations of andragogy, its historical development, and its contributions to various educational contexts, including formal education, vocational training, organizational settings, and the use of digital technologies. It is a qualitative, bibliographic study based on the analysis of books, scientific articles, and specialized publications. The literature indicates that andragogical principles foster educational practices that are contextualized, participatory, and learner-centered, thereby strengthening lifelong learning. The study concludes that andragogy represents a robust framework for adult education, particularly in contexts requiring continuous knowledge updating and skills development.
