The article underscores music as an essential pedagogical tool in early childhood education, fostering cognitive, socioemotional, and motor development in children. Music enhances language skills, literacy, memory, attention, and logical reasoning, strengthening neural connections that support learning. Socioemotionally, it facilitates emotional expression, boosts self-esteem, and promotes empathy and social skills through collaborative activities. Activities such as dancing and rhythmic games develop motor coordination and body awareness. Music integrates with subjects like language and mathematics, enriching the curriculum in a playful manner, and its universal nature makes it inclusive, benefiting children with special needs through strategies like music therapy. Despite challenges such as lack of teacher training and resources, public policies and the Brazilian National Curriculum Guidelines highlight its importance. The article concludes that music is indispensable for holistic development, requiring greater investment in teacher training and infrastructure.
