This article aims to describe the training process for undergraduate nursing students to work in the care of people living with autism spectrum disorder. This is an integrative review, carried out between May and July 2024, 30 selected articles were initially researched with the criterion of approach on the teaching practice focused on ASD in graduation and also the nursing care of patients with ASD, where 5 articles were later chosen as the basis for the study. Most of the articles point to a precariousness of teaching on this subject in universities that do not bring an adequate qualification and result in professionals with a title to exercise the profession but unprepared for the service of these users. There were some gaps in the approach to the theme in the formation of the knowledge of nursing students about Autism Spectrum Disorder, and the inclusion of this theme in undergraduate courses should be encouraged.
