This research sought to evaluate the contribution of the family in the school, aiming to reflect on the family's intervention in the school context regarding student performance in a municipal school in the city of Goiana - PE. The reason for researching this topic is that few families in the research field school seek out the school's administrative team to inquire about their child's performance. To develop this research, a bibliographic and field study was conducted with a qualitative approach through interviews with two teachers and the principal of the research field school, to gather their experiences regarding family-school relations. After the research and interviews, it is clear that the responses and conceptualizations about parental participation in education favor the teaching-learning process and contribute to the overall development of children. It is concluded that family participation in school is of great relevance to the child's development and academic performance.
