This article addresses the use of exergames as a pedagogical tool in Physical Education classes, focusing on Escola Estadual Paula Ângela Frassinetti, in Manaus, Amazonas, during the year 2020. The educational environment faces challenges in providing pedagogical practices that motivate students; thus, the virtual environment can be used both as a means of motivation and as a new pedagogical resource in Physical Education classes. The research investigated the impact of this technology on student engagement and the use of exergames as a support tool for teachers in conducting physical practices within the school environment. The methodology employed was a qualitative study with an exploratory and descriptive approach. The results showed a significant increase in student engagement and highlighted the challenges faced by teachers in the context of digital innovations. Therefore, it was concluded that exergames represent an effective pedagogical strategy for teaching Physical Education, aligning with the curriculum and offering diverse possibilities for the teaching–learning process.
