Abstract

This article aimed to analyze how global citizenship and digital inclusion can contribute to improving the teaching and learning process in distance education environments. The objective was to understand how the use of digital technologies can expand access to knowledge, promote educational equity, and foster the formation of critical and participatory citizens. The qualitative and bibliographic research was based on authors such as Freire, Morin, Castells, Kenski, and Moran, who discuss the role of technology in human and social formation. The results showed that the pedagogical use of digital technologies encourages students' autonomy and strengthens intercultural dialogue, provided there is adequate teaching mediation and inclusive digital policies. It was also found that access to technologies, when combined with a humanized pedagogical practice, can reduce inequalities and promote global citizenship. It is concluded that the integration between citizenship, inclusion, and technology is essential for strengthening innovative, democratic, and socially transformative education.
