The concept of mental health has several perspectives and different definitions, and in the recent Brazilian historical context, there have been several setbacks in public policies that have promoted a stigma on this issue in society. The present study aims to present an empirical research project, with the proposal to carry out activities consisting of semi-structured individual interviews with persons from generation Z in everyday life, aiming to understand their perceptions of the concept of mental health and practices of self-care and promotion of well-being in everyday life. In this process of extensive activities, we can find different perspectives on the concept of mental health and self-care practices in daily life that do not reach all the factors necessary for effective practice in promoting well-being and mental health and its psychological phenomena. We recognize the importance of interviews as a space for dialogue for the production of knowledge and the development of critical and reflective thinking in society, contributing to the promotion of the reduction of stigma associated with this concept, aiming at the adoption of more efficient practices of self-care and promotion of collective well-being. Finally, we emphasize the importance of research in producing greater awareness about mental health in society.
