Abstract

This article aims to investigate the skills required of professionals for the Fourth Industrial Revolution/Industry 4.0 and the role of knowledge management in this context. The research adopted a qualitative and bibliographic approach in the Scopus and Scielo databases. The results revealed that the implementation of cyber-physical systems requires not only technical changes, but also human skills. The digitalization of work processes allows organizations to optimize and increase their competitiveness, although it requires rapid training of the workforce. Automation will result in some jobs being replaced, but it will also open up new opportunities in programming and data analysis. The skills needed for digital transformation include data literacy, communication, digital content creation, security and problem solving. Knowledge management is key to harnessing the potential of big data and artificial intelligence, promoting innovation and competitive advantage. It is concluded that the successful adaptation of organizations to the demands of Industry 4.0 requires the development of digital skills and a people-centred approach to knowledge management.
