Feminicide, understood as the killing of a woman due to her gender, is one of the most serious social problems in Brazil. This article discusses the causes and consequences of feminicide, focusing on the cultural, social, and structural factors that fuel this extreme form of gender violence. Through a critical analysis, the legal and social responses to feminicide are also discussed, highlighting Brazilian legislation and the need for more effective measures to combat this violence. This study suggests that, although legal frameworks have advanced, there are significant gaps in enforcement and the cultural shift needed to eradicate this crime.
