This article presents an experience report on the implementation of a pedagogical intervention for the introductory teaching of queues and stacks to fifth-grade elementary school students. The proposal was based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and supported by the Algorithm Visualizations platform, which was used to visually represent insertion and removal operations in data structures. The study involved 22 students from a public state school in Itacoatiara, Amazonas, Brazil, and employed a pre-test and post-test design. The results showed an increase in the average percentage of correct answers from 36.4% to 78.4%, with a statistically significant difference and a large effect size, providing evidence of improved student performance after the intervention.
