Contemporary public security demands swift and integrated responses in the face of increasingly sophisticated criminal dynamics. In the state of Amazonas, the adoption of technological tools has been the central pillar of a modernisation strategy that seeks to overcome geographical and logistical barriers. The present study analysed the use of technological tools in public security in Amazonas, aiming to identify the technologies employed in combating crime, as well as to assess their operational impacts and limitations related to information management and integration. The research adopted a qualitative approach, descriptive and exploratory in nature, using integrative review of scientific articles produced in Amazonas as its method, including comparative studies from other Brazilian states. Scientific publications from 2023 to 2026 were analysed, alongside normative documents such as the Unified Public Security System (Sistema Único de Segurança Pública — SUSP) and the National and State Public Security Plans. The analysis indicated that the use of technologies such as SINESP/PPE and the Intelligent Surveillance System (Sistema Cerco Inteligente — Paredão) contributes to the modernisation of policing and the improvement of operational indicators. However, structural challenges were found to persist, including the fragmentation of databases and the uneven implementation of tools across the state of Amazonas. It is noted that the effectiveness of technology depends on its integration, governance, and ethical use, particularly in contexts marked by logistical constraints such as those found in Amazonas.
