Abstract

This article describes the execution of the project "Weaving Knowledge: Enchanted Indigenous Ancestry in the Tupinambá Cloak," developed with adult students within the prison system (Education for Young People and Adults - EJA). The initiative integrated theoretical knowledge from Sociology, Science, and Biology with artistic practices, promoting reflections on the history, resistance, and culture of the Tupinambá people, with an emphasis on the meaning of the cloak as a symbol of identity and struggle. The collective creation of replicas of artifacts, adornments, and ritualistic objects in the classroom, focusing on the cloak, allowed students to experience processes of cultural appreciation while also discussing the theft of Indigenous heritage during colonization. The project culminated in a school exhibition, reinforcing the importance of preserving native cultures.
