The article "Health Education as the Main Alternative for Promoting the Health of the Elderly" explores the importance of health education as a fundamental strategy to promote the well-being and quality of life of the elderly. The objective of the study is to highlight the benefits of health education, its relationship with adherence to healthy practices and the impact on the search for adequate medical care. The article points out that health education enables older people to acquire relevant knowledge about their health, understand the warning signs of disease and make informed decisions. In addition, the importance of self-management skills and setting realistic goals to improve the health of the elderly is highlighted. Addressing specific issues related to aging is emphasized as an integral part of health education. This includes managing chronic illnesses, preventing falls, and promoting mental and emotional health. Health education also empowers seniors to become advocates for their own health by seeking appropriate medical care and adhering to healthy lifestyle practices. Finally, the article concludes that investing in health education for the elderly is essential to promote a better quality of life, autonomy and healthy aging. Through health education, the elderly become active agents in promoting their own health, contributing to a healthier society that is better informed about the needs of the elderly population.
