One of the social realities that we have been observing in recent times has to do with the emergence of new family structures and reorganizations associated with the increase of single-parent families. Single-parent families tend to be more vulnerable than traditional families, sometimes leading to less attention given to their children. We intend to verify, through a quantitative study using a questionnaire survey, whether family structure has a positive or negative influence on children's academic success. Although some research seems to indicate that single parent families are more vulnerable than traditional families, the results obtained in this study indicate that school success is not influenced.
