HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CONTEXT OF REFORM: THE FIRST STEPS OF IMPLEMENTATION

This article aimed to analyze the implementation of the new high school in six schools in the southeastern region of the state of Tocantins, in the first semester of 2022. The investigation used information from the monitoring of work in these institutions, listening to the school team, and the study of bibliographic references and documents related to the topic. There are important achievements, such as the systematization of collective and integrated teaching planning, as well as challenges, highlighting the need to improve the physical structure of school spaces. The initial results indicate positively regarding the changes in the implementation phase. However, it is necessary that schools and public authorities, considering the context of action and responsibilities, ensure the necessary conditions to guarantee the right to quality education for all, expressed in the achievement of rights and learning objectives, and development of socioemotional skills, that is, the integral formation of the subjects when concluding basic schooling.
