Abstract

Bearing in mind the current educational scenario that we find ourselves in regarding the teaching and learning of Mathematics in High School, there are several factors that cause the difficulties that students have in understanding and especially applying mathematical concepts. One of them is related to the traditional axiomatic tendency of teachers to teach their classes, in the middle of the 21st century, arousing various emotions. In this sense, the objective of this essay is to discuss how Mathematics is currently seen, as well as which mathematical skills must be mobilized for meaningful learning to occur and the importance of training teachers who teach Mathematics. Finally, we believe that evolution in learning is linked to the knowledge of educators, which makes a big difference when consciously applied to teaching.
