The article brings a report of teaching practice that makes use of literature in the discipline of inclusive education for diversity on the degree course in chemistry at the federal institute of Amapá, in the campus located in the city of Macapá Brazil. The reflection is justified in the search for approaches to Afro-Brazilian literature that goes beyond the exposition of grammatical aspects and leads to the improvement of other important skills in the educational process of students in basic and higher education. The main objective of the report is to analyze the use of literature made by a professor in his classes, as well as to reflect on the themes addressed within the Law 10.639/03. This is a descriptive article that indicates the methodological path taken by the educator that resulted in suggesting the use of literature in the classroom along with orality, reading aloud and writing in an integrated and complementary way to improve the criticality of the students involved. in classroom activities.
