This article proposes a theoretical reflection on the field of Science Teaching through Investigation, presenting some conceptions of Science teaching in Elementary School. The propositions presented aim to expand the spaces of dialogues, experiences and perceptions to be carried out by Science teachers in order to stimulate the taste for scientific knowledge in school. The bibliographical research carried out provided information about the necessity to develop a type of science teaching that reinforces the questioning, problematization, curiosity and the investigative act for the unveiling of the sociocultural reality in which the students are situated. The Science Teaching through Investigation is a productive and creative possibility for the development of the Science curriculum component by enhancing connections between scientific knowledge, citizenship, ethics, and cultural plurality.
