In Brazil it is considered elderly, the individual aged 60 years or older. Aging is understood as a natural and continuous process that causes physiological, biological and functional changes (senescence). As senescence occurs, elderly individualts become less active and more prone to pshysical, functional, mental and social disability, leading to na increased risk of falls, which is the mains cause of Femoral Fracture (FF) in the elderly. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between hospitalizations, deaths and the total amount spent in reais per FF during hospitalization. Used the Search in the DATASUS databse by the Hospital Information System and Hospital Morbidity System, on the epidemiological analysis of femoral fracture in the city of Rio de Janeiro during the period January 2010 and December 2020. There was a predominance of hospitalizations, deaths and expenditures for women and 2020 was the year with the most prominent for the variables. It is concluded that in the ciry of Rio de Janeiro, hospitalizations, deaths and expenses due to FF are increasing every year. It is important to invest in public Heath education policies aimed at preventing FF in the elderly.
