DIGITAL VIDEO PRODUCTION: A POSSIBILITY FOR THE MATHEMATICS CLASSROOM

How to encourage the production of knowledge mediated by digital technologies? How to extend this production of knowledge to the public-school classroom? These questions led the extension project “Digital Videos in Mathematics Education” aimed at teachers who teach Mathematics in a Brazilian state. On that occasion, inspired by excerpts from Sérgio Britto's music, we exchanged experiences with a course participant in his workplace that made him a collaborator in the execution of actions and production of data, which were analyzed in the light of the human-beings-with-media construct. In this way, we adopted the qualitative research approach, visited the school, talked to students, observed behaviors, interviewed the teacher and read his research report. In particular, through a course we sowed seeds that bore fruit and transformed the teacher into a learning multiplier.
