This article presents rural education as a teaching modality, where it seeks the process of building the curriculum of rural schools that offer fundamental education in the municipality of Palmas -TO, as well as the mechanisms that support an education differentiated thought from the curriculum. In this way, it leads us to know if the curriculum is adequate to meet the specificities of rural education? In the content of the article, the legal stakes are identified, such as the Laws, Decrees, and resolutions published by the municipality and the Municipal Secretary of Education-SEMED, which support the construction process and the guiding concepts of the guidelines and goals of the curriculum policy for teaching field in the municipal education system. It is also verified in the laws, decrees and resolutions published by the state secretary of education - SEDUC, which deals with documents concerning education for rural areas. In this aspect, the conferences point to the demand that, through the debates carried out, involving public authorities, civil society and rural social movements, proposes the construction of a school curriculum that meets the needs of an education that meets the reality of the peasant population.
