Abstract

The new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic started in Brazil in 2020, leading the world population to social isolation, to reduce the chances of infection, while a vaccine was created. This isolation caused schools to adapt their teaching methodologies, thus implementing, for the most part, remote teaching. Taking into account the Brazilian reality, we know that not all families have access to the internet and electronic devices, therefore, the teaching done through this method did not serve the entire population, impacting the guarantee of access to education. And, on the other hand, in an attempt to educate at a distance, teachers and students were busy meeting this new demand, generating numerous problems that go beyond learning, such as the negative impact on the mental health of the actors in this scenario. That is why it is important to think about what changes are necessary to prevent issues like these from affecting the population in question, in view of the involvement of the psychology professional in crisis situations. Based on this thought, this article makes a literature review, which aims to analyze the impacts generated by the pandemic and understand its effects on public school students.
