The literacy stage is extremely important for the student, being an essential subject of study for the teacher, the article aims to explain the literacy and literacy process of students with ASD (autistic spectrum disorders), making these concepts and processes clear. how they differ and how their joys and frustrations relate to atypical students, extolling the extreme importance of learning to read and write in early childhood education to primary school. Exposing the importance of the teacher in this process, how their good practice can bring good results. The experience report is qualitative, descriptive and participatory exploratory. The problem situation is the importance of literacy to be worked together with literacy for students with ASD, was answered through observations and experiences of students in schools in the municipal network of Altamira - Pará. It is hoped that the research will bring clarification on the subject, that there will be reflection on these processes and that the importance for teaching and learning will be perceived.
