Fake news has been attracting the attention of academic, judicial, political, as well as media professionals. However, the concept of fake news is still ambiguous and complex, which hinders an adequate conceptual limitation, and consequently a definition that can sustain control actions. This descriptive-bibliographic essay aims to outline a theoretical framework for facilitating the understanding and composition of a conceptual framework on the theme fake news, thus contributing to the search for this definition.
