We understand that early childhood education goes through daily activities that concern the dimensions of care and education of children from 0 to 5 years old. In this sense, the main objective of this article is to understand the organization of sleep time in early childhood education through the inseparable activity between caring and educating and weaving a look at design aimed at the child's playful rest. The methodology is of a bibliographic nature, like Batista (1998), Coelho (2009) and Oliveira (2014). For this reason, sleep time is necessary for the child's development, taking into account the characteristics of children and treating sleep time as a time of rest and relaxation for the child, not as an obligation to “fall asleep”.
