In classrooms and for education professionals, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder has become increasingly popular and complex. The particularities in the needs of approaches presented by students, even without proper instruction to the teacher, bring this complexity when dealing with these situations. The study intends to present, in an accessible way, the history of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and also to share possible work strategies to be applied. Social cognition is associated with the ability to identify, manipulate and regulate behavior from the processing of perceived social cues, and is seen as a protective factor for the individual. For this, a bibliographic review of writers who debate on the subject will be presented, resulting in the presentation of practical and simple strategic measures to be adopted in the classroom.
