MEDIA EDUCATION AND THE FIGHT AGAINST FAKE NEWS

This article analyzes and describes the influence of media skills with the ability to identify “Fake News”. It emphasizes how essential it is to understand the great impact that the famous fake news is having in current times. In addition, it emphasizes that the teacher must still develop a pedagogical practice aimed at media literacy, with the purpose of combating any type of untrue news. Therefore, this research aims to present the possibilities for students to develop a critical sense in order to analyze all the information that surrounds them. Methodologically, this research was developed through bibliographic research with a qualitative and exploratory approach, from Faustino (2010), Rais (2020), Rodrigues (2022) and Valente (2014), it was possible to conclude the importance of media education to combat disinformation and it is necessary to evaluate all information before sharing, as well as reflect on the impact that such "fake news" cause.
