In the midst of a globalized and competitive world, companies must strive to retain and hire people capable of adding value to the organization. We understand that the organization's most important asset is its people. Therefore, the first step towards effective management is the creation of a structure, which allows employees to adapt to the right jobs and receive fair remuneration. In this sense, the research proposed a description of positions and salaries for the company Caçamba Cidade Limpa in the city of Brusque/SC, which complies with the labor market. To this end, the survey identified existing positions in the company, as well as technical and behavioral skills, in addition to conducting a salary survey. From a methodological point of view, the research was characterized as qualitative, typified in exploratory and descriptive. As for the methods, the research was classified into document research and case study. The survey results showed that the company did not have a document that regulated the description of positions and salaries. When carrying out the salary survey, it was observed that most positions were in the average market, as only three needed to be readjusted. Finally, we consider that the description and analysis of positions and salaries works as a mapping of the work carried out within the organization, since a program of description and analysis of positions and salaries produces subsidies for an effective People Management.
