Introduction: The Nursing undergraduate course aims to train generalist professionals, with scientific and human preparation and sufficient training to assess, identify and implement the health and care needs of healthy or sick people, families and the community. Thus, the graduating student, by participating in dynamic classes, acquires professional skills obtained through active methodologies offered by the professor in the teaching-learning process. Objective: To analyze the relevance of using active methodologies in the learning process of nursing students. Methodology: This is a systematic bibliographic review research in an exploratory nature in which 10 articles and 1 book were used. In turn, relevant information on the research topic was collected. Final Considerations: Even with the difficulties of implementation by professors, it was identified that active teaching methodologies contribute significantly to the professional training of undergraduate nursing students, with the development of critical-reflexive reasoning, decision-making, leadership and humanization that are fundamental for professional training.
