Abstract

The present study proposes to analyze the use of didactic software by teachers and students as an instrument of pedagogical support in teaching and learning and to alleviate the difficulties of learning descriptive statistics faced by students of the higher course of the Instituto Federal Ifam, in Manaus-AM. It aimed to analyze the use of didactic software in the teaching-learning process in a computer laboratory by teachers and students of the federal public education network in the North of Amazonas. In carrying out the project, the methodology applied by the instruments was used: quantitative method, questionnaire, direct observation and Minitab Software. The results obtained from this work allowed us to conclude that teachers of mathematical sciences, many times, do not make use of the potential of didactic software in a continuous way as a facilitator resource of the teaching-learning process in the contents of descriptive statistics, a fact that must be rethought taking into account since the students have difficulty in the discipline of probability and statistics. It is concluded that this research contributes in a reflective way to the importance of using the computer lab in statistics classes mediated by the use of software resources in teaching practices. We trust that the use of a didactic tool in an adequate way in the teaching of applied statistics can alleviate the learning difficulties encountered by the students. Admitting to have more autonomy, creativity, critical sense, dynamics and meaningful learning.
