This article refers to a problem inserted for a long time in schools and little discussed in academic circles, extracurricular activities, which are activities sent by teachers to be developed outside the school environment accompanied by those responsible. The intention is to provide reflections on how and under what conditions these activities are being developed, or not by the students, observing if there are conditions for them to be carried out within the school units of integral education, due to the time students spend in these schools. The work presents a research related to the theme, cited by Carvalho and Serpa (2006) that focused on the problem of “homework” (referring to these extracurricular activities) elaborated by scholarship holders of an Initiation to Teaching program, carried out with teachers and guardians, reporting recurring negative points during the development of extracurricular activities that deserve attention and adequacy, observing the changes that have occurred in recent times in society as well as new family logistics, new family arrangements and differentiated sociocultural situations in schools.
