THE ANDRAGOGIC CHALLENGES OF BREAST CANCER PREVENTION: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF THE LAST 20 YEARS

ABSTRACT: With the accomplishment of a balance of information regarding the non-adherence of many women to campaigns for the prevention of breast cancer, it was emphasized the importance of knowing the most prevalent factors in relation to non-adherence, thus, taking into account the deficiency of andragogy as a way of promoting health. It aims to discuss strategic possibilities to increase women's adherence to preventive campaigns, and it is pointed out the relevance of the approach of the professionals towards health promotion in what corresponds to the sociocultural and physiological values of women. The research method is characterized as a systematized integrative review, based on scientific productions published in the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Ministry of Health, National Cancer Institute (INCA), LILACS, VHL, Academic Google And World Health Organization, with periodicals that approach the proposed theme, published in the period from 2000 to 2020. Thus, it was verified that Schooling / Andragogy and Sexual Factors are the most influential factors in the woman's decision to prevent against Breast cancer, being highlighted in 42 of the 87 articles evaluated, as well as the most contradictory points in relation to the theme, where 13 of the 87 authors were found to be the ones who make the most of the women to prevent themselves. Higher schooling and use of andragogy, in addition to increased self-esteem and continued support, women tend to prevent themselves more.
