CURIOSITY AND STRANGENESS: PSYCHOSOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF PORNOGRAPHY CONSUMPTION BY YOUNG WOMEN

The aim of this study is to analyze the affections and psychosocial implications of pornography consumption by young women in Fortaleza, Ceará. It is a study anchored in the qualitative perspective, carried out with 10 women aged between 18 and 26. Semi-structured interviews and a socio-demographic questionnaire were used to construct the corpus, and the information was systematized and analyzed using content analysis. The interpretations and discussions were based on the theoretical framework of social psychology, with an emphasis on the category of affective studies. Among the results, certain feelings and emotions were identified that stood out in the reports: curiosity, strangeness and pleasure appear as positive implications, while guilt, shame, shock and worry stand out as negative impacts. The study is considered to have provided an analysis of the women's perception and understanding of the affections narrated around the subject.
