Abstract

This article presents an experience report of a descriptive nature and qualitative approach, aiming to report and analyze the implementation of a Computer Laboratory and the execution of a Digital Inclusion Course for 26 quilombolas from the Sumidouro Quilombo Remaining Community, located in Queimada Nova, Piauí, Brazil, carried out between January and August 2025 within the scope of a Quilombola Basic Environmental Plan (Plano Básico Ambiental Quilombola – PBAQ), a requirement of the environmental licensing process for a transmission line. The actions were developed in a participatory manner, involving community leaders in all stages of planning, laboratory implementation, and course delivery. The training totaled 102 hours, distributed across four progressive modules, whose contents and methodologies were continuously adapted to the participants' needs and learning pace. The main outcomes of the experience included the implementation of the computer laboratory, the production of digital and audiovisual materials by the students, and the strengthening of the community's capacity to use digital technologies in their daily lives. The experience demonstrated that digital inclusion, when articulated with the appreciation of identity, culture, and local knowledge, contributes to the autonomy of individuals and to territorial strengthening. It is concluded that the PBAQ, when implemented with social participation, grounded in the appreciation of identity and local knowledge, guided by active listening and ethical commitment, can constitute a tool for real social impact, capable of transforming individual and collective trajectories, promoting territorial and cultural strengthening, and contributing to the pursuit of autonomy for quilombola communities.
