This article aims to reflect on the readings, discussions, and experiences encountered in the course "Problems of Physical Education" within the Professional Master's Program in Physical Education (PROEF), analyzing the contributions of this formative process. This is an experience report with a qualitative approach, characterized by a descriptive and analytical-reflective nature. The analysis and discussions were grounded in foundational texts of the field, addressing core themes such as pedagogical renewal in opposition to the traditional "roll the ball" model, the abandonment of teaching work, the inseparability of theory and practice (praxis), and the legal aspects that legitimize the discipline in Basic Education. Additionally, pressing daily challenges within the school environment were debated, including indiscipline, student disengagement in High School, the pedagogical possibilities of teaching sports, and the need to address gender issues to build inclusive practices. It concludes that the formative path fostered the development of an investigative and critical stance towards the demands of the contemporary school, reaffirming that continuing education constitutes a permanent and indispensable process of reconstructing knowledge and improving professional teaching practice.
