Abstract

This article presents an analytical and interdisciplinary approach to the topic “Burnout Syndrome at Work: Legal and Psychological Implications after WHO Recognition,” integrating the fields of psychology and labor law. It seeks to understand how organizational factors and the emotional demands of the professional environment contribute to psychological illness. At the same time, it examines the legal implications arising from this process. The objective was to analyze how Burnout Syndrome, a psychosocial phenomenon linked to psychological exhaustion, has become one of the main challenges to workers’ mental health in contemporary society. The research is based on a literature review and critical analysis of Brazilian legislation, labor jurisprudence, and international guidelines on workers’ health. Addressing burnout requires not only the recognition of the syndrome but also the effective application of constitutional principles such as human dignity, the valorization of labor, and the social function of the company. The study concludes that building a healthy work environment is essential for promoting social justice and sustainability in labor relations.
