Active methodologies have stood out in the educational scenario, driving a transformation in the way we teach and learn today. The use of active methodologies in the educational context is an effective resource for developing deeper learning, as students can explore concepts in more detail, understanding them more deeply. It also enables the development of problem-solving skills, teamwork, as well as critical thinking. This active participation helps to retain knowledge due to the numerous cognitive operations involved in the process. All this mobilization around a project ends up having a positive impact on the motivation and engagement of students to carry out the project. This work aims to present the challenges most commonly experienced by teachers when using these methodologies, highlighting the urgency of adequate and continued training, adaptation to the student's profile and overcoming the rigidity and resistance of institutions in adhering to changes. We will present some observations regarding how teachers can plan to adhere to and apply active, student-centered pedagogical practices.
