Abstract

This study addressed the role of teachers in the process of digital transformation in education, focusing on the difficulties faced by educators in integrating new technologies into the curriculum. Considering the changes caused by the advancement of digital technologies in the educational context, the research sought to understand how teachers have dealt with the demands related to the integration of these resources into pedagogical practices. The study was guided by the following research question: what difficulties do teachers face when inserting new technologies into the educational curriculum? The general objective was to analyze the role of teachers as agents of digital transformation in education, considering the challenges related to the integration of digital technologies into the curriculum. To achieve this objective, a bibliographic research methodology was adopted, based on the analysis of books, book chapters, and scientific articles addressing education, digital technologies, and digital transformation in teaching. The development section discussed aspects related to digital transformation in education, Education 4.0, changes in pedagogical practices, and the difficulties faced by teachers in the pedagogical use of technologies. It also analyzed the importance of pedagogical leadership in the process of integrating technologies into the curriculum. In the final considerations, it was observed that integrating technologies into the curriculum involves challenges related to teacher training, pedagogical practices, and institutional conditions, highlighting the importance of teachers as mediators of knowledge and agents of educational innovation.
