Abstract

The study addressed the relationship between participatory methodologies and digital technologies in the educational context, considering their contribution to student engagement in the teaching and learning process. The investigation was based on the understanding that technological transformations have required changes in pedagogical practices and curricular organization, demanding strategies that promote greater student participation in educational activities. In this sense, the research problem sought to understand how participatory methodologies associated with the use of digital technologies can contribute to promoting greater student engagement in the teaching and learning process. The general objective was to analyze how the use of participatory methodologies mediated by digital technologies can favor student engagement in the contemporary educational context. To achieve this objective, a bibliographic research methodology was adopted, based on the analysis of academic publications addressing the integration of digital technologies in education, participatory pedagogical practices, and their contributions to learning. The development of the study discussed aspects related to the integration between curriculum, participatory methodologies, and digital technologies, highlighting the possibilities of using these resources to promote more interactive and collaborative pedagogical practices. The final considerations indicated that the articulation between participatory methodologies and digital technologies has the potential to strengthen student engagement by encouraging active participation and expanding interaction possibilities in the educational process, while also pointing to the need for further studies on the topic in different educational contexts.
