LIMITS AND POSSIBILITIES OF THE ACT OF REHABILITATION: THE ROLE OF THE PRISON MANAGER

This book seeks to appreciate the contribution of prison managers to the resocialization of inmates. To this end, it briefly presents concepts of imprisonment, emphasizing the role of prison managers in the search for strategies aimed at the resocialization of prisoners. The methodology used was descriptive bibliographic research. After analyzing the texts, it was observed that the role of the prison manager is important in the process of resocializing prisoners, provided that they act as a mediator and promote the integration of the professions present and active in the prison establishment, through the planning, execution, evaluation, and control of public policies proposed to prisoners, in compliance with current legislation. Through the readings, the importance of public-private partnerships becomes clear, as they generate benefits for society. With projects that meet the precepts of the Penal Execution Law – LEP – Law 7.210/84 and the Federal Constitution of 1988. In principle, this type of partnership system provides the prisoner with the opportunity to serve their sentence in a dignified manner and through instruments that enable them to achieve resocialization, returning to harmonious coexistence in society.
