This study investigated the use of pedagogical practices mediated by Artificial Intelligence (IA) in Science Education, with an emphasis on Cytology content, targeting 6th-grade students in lower secondary education. The objective was to analyze how ChatGPT can contribute as a mediator in the knowledge construction process without replacing the teacher’s role. The methodology involved dividing the class into eight groups of five students, whose task was to create questions related to the proposed topic with the support of ChatGPT and subsequently insert them into the Kahoot! platform. The results showed that students developed cognitive skills such as critical thinking, synthesis, and reformulation of ideas. It is concluded that the integration of AI into pedagogical practices represents an opportunity to innovate Science Education, strengthening learning and promoting student autonomy.
